So Much |To Do So Little Time To Blog

It has been so long since I last posted anything!
This is due to moving back to university, living in condemned housing and plus net being useless at providing internet. Were now with 02 which are a million times better! Plus a little laptop disaster as well as a million things to do for University its been a mission to have a free time and post things.

But when the hand in is over in a few weeks i'll update this space with some work! :)
Currently I am working on a live project at University with the lovely brand Mulberry, as well as preparing for interviews for placement at Pentex and Eley Kishimoto to name a few. Eley Kishimoto is this Monday and IM SO EXCITED!!!!! :)

Summer Outfits

I used to be one of those people who took photos all the time now a days I just forget so heres a few photos from the last week of my outfits when not at work! :)

This was a lovely little cream lace dress from h & m which after a mix up I ended up getting for free lol bargin! and the shoes of course Jefferey Campbell!

Went to visit my sister in the hospital for a few hours and it was scorching hot that day! The caridgan was from a charity shop, The shirt was from River Island about £10 in the xmas sale! and the shorts H & M about £14 when I bought them last year. My bag and shoes were from boot sale hauls!
A night out with the girls! It is always been too long in between seeing them :( were all so busy and with me living away majortiy of the year, its great to meet up and have a gossip and a night out! My dress is from Love @Topshop, Paris shirt is from River Island and Charlie's dress is AX Paris
Didnt get a photo of my outfit this day but I was wearing the Asos Aztec dress that Jessie J has, LOVE IT! I am a bit of a foodie, so heres a snap of the amazing fahitas me and my friends had at the Nosey Parker Flaming Grill . Delicious!!
This was just a day out with my boyfriend. He hates the trousers, I on the other hand are in love with them :)
Shirt is from Topshop
Trousers are from New Look
and the necklace is an oldie from Primark

Due to my sister having an operation recently she cant move very well, so I am taking full advantage of this and practising hairstyles on her as she cant get away from me! Just what big sisters are supposed to do !! Heres one of many attempts at fish tail plaits!
This beauty is my friends, not mine sadly! Its a silver jersey drape dress by Vivienne Westwood. it is so beautiful! really hope she doesnt take it back because it looks amazing!! :)

Nottinghamshire Delights!

Other little delights I found whilst in Nottinghamshire!
 Cafe Roya
http://www.caferoya.co.uk/
A great little vegetarian restaurant in Beeston! My friend is vegan and I am often so intrigued at some of the things she cooks and eats, so she took us to her work Cafe Roya! Its a lovely restaurant that offers fantastic food, personally I am no vegan, veggie or pescetarian but I loved the food, I would have traded any burger or bacon buttie for that amazing food! I only took a few photos because we were too busy stuffing our faces, but as you can see from the photo below, real effort goes into the presentation of the dishes making it look to pretty to eat! The photo below is a fig fruit with goats cheese and balsamic dressing, it was delicious :) A definate must if your a vegetarian or even after trying something different the usual restaurant food.

If alternative rock music is your thing then Rockcity on a saturday night is  a great place to be!On the main stage obviously, I didnt really think much to the other rooms but I guess the black cherry lounge was good at the end of the night. but seriously these drinks were absolutely hilarious when we bought them...... not when we drank them though ! urghhh they were awful! but on the other hand they were so cheap and they look like capri suns! hahah :')

This however was the cracker of the night, the poor lad who is handing these out to just about anyone in Rockcity, oh dear. I dont know how well you can read this but basically its the lyrics to call me maybe by carly rae jepsen, with this guys full name, face book and his number! It had me in tears of laughter :')

These were just some other cool things found around Beeston, not my friends at the top of the photo their not cool :')

The Bee Keeper of Beeston !
This was in an expensive lingerie shop just off the high street, I think its great!

The Nottingham Splurge Spree!

One of my friends from uni lives in Nottingham, so decided to pay her a visit for a couple of days! ( and to get away from work!! )
As well as a night out in Rockcity, we found the time to go round the shops! heres what i got!

Where im from there isnt much around literally about 3 chain clothes shops, the rest are charity shops or dramatically over priced crap boutiques, in which you do find some gems but hey Nottinghams LOADS BETTER :)

Anyways finally gave in to my saving money instincts and splurged a little....whoops!
first purchase was the American Apparel disco pants!! wanted them for so long and just gave up searching for a cheap alternative and just decided to go for them, I was torn between the navy, grey or black but decided to play it safe and go for the black..... especially when spending £60 (with student discount!!) on a pair of trousers! and after wearing them literally everytime i go out, well worth the £60! love them!!
This little jem cost me £1 from a little charity shop in Beeston, its made from a really odd coated material not quite sure what it is but the shirt is by Kickers. I bought it for my boyfriend as he usually moans when I dnt bring him back some thing lol :D but if he hates it I am SO having it :)
Again where I live there is no Zara, there is literally nothing so when I do go to the big cities its like heaven for me. So much so that my friend had to cut me off at the zara sale otherwise this blog would have been called the Nottingham debt spree! But anyways, I got this lovely high front low back skirt for £16 :) and the top for £8!!! Absolutely love the prints on them there so bold and summery :)

And this was another treasure I found in the River Island sale, £20 but reduced from £40 so I dont feel as ripped off but this is literaly the last thing of the day I bought. Its a floral maxi skirt, you cant see from the photo but it has splits up either side! Its so nice!! :) luckily the only size left was mine! :)

And for my biggest fashion purchase to date! Jeffery Campbell Studded Litas :')
Ever since seeing them on Tumblr, I knew I had to have them! Originally the idea was to ask for money towards them as christmas present but when we went into Office, they were the last pair, in my size and the lady gave me 20% off! it was fate! Not only that but these will get their wear especially for the price I paid! plus being the real deal they are unbelievably comfy and I mean that, I am the knid of person who would usually opt for flats but no I managed to walk around Nottingham as well as the other day I walked to and from town in my home city in them.
So if you are uming and aring about the price tag over quality just get them!! They are so worth it! my friend has the cat litas and spiked flatforms and these are really comfy as well. Dont settle for the fakes as they kill your feet! Myself and friends have bought copies of some Jeffery Campbell shoes and their just not as good. A few months ago I bought a fake of the studded night walks, omg! trying to walk in those bad boys I took a tumble about 2 times before we got into town, BEFORE THE DRINKS! so seriously go real with JCs you wont regret it!! :)

I LOVE THEM :)

Its Tie Dye Season!!

Its tie dye season! Summers in the air......well eventually be in England, apparently we have been forcast  a months worth of rainfall everytime It rains :/ so yeah its really summery here atm!!

But needless to say the rainy wheather isnt going to stop my creativity! so heres my first tie dye this summer!

This was once upon a time a minging top from primark, to be honest I dnt even know why I bought it and was ready to chuck it in the charity shop bag but then had a bright idea! Little bit of acrylic and fringing and here we are! brand new festival top. Im so sorry about all these creations of mine being festival related! Im just so excited to go to Leeds Festival this year as I ve never been to a festival!!! Plus Ive been told not to take my best clothes to festivals, my boyfriend has said every year hes gone hes ruined something so I thought why not make my old shitty clothes into something new :) upcycling and not ruining my lovely clothes. (which I would definately cry if this happened!!!!)

My 2 creations out on the line to dry!
and in true british from, after taking this photo the wheather changedd and decided to piss it down!!!! ¬¬

Horizontal Ribbed Jumper / Sweat Shirt

I started this whilst in my first year at uni.......... still going lol! this is the front panel, hopefully now I have time in the summer I'll have a lovely oversized turquoise knitted jumper for october!!!

Close up! Just a standard Horizontal Rib Knit
Heres a close up of the yarn, just basic simple yarn that you can get from any knitting shop!

Carboot Bargins!! North Scarle

Today we went to North Scarle for a carboot! there wasnt as much as Torksey last week but I think I still got some bargins!!

First was this belt!kind of a brassy metal material with mint green enamel and lovely little beads hanging off!its a little big for my waist but I guess I can tie it up, was only 50p!!
This was another lovely discovery! Tan crochet top,  not handmade but oh well its lovely! and im looking forward to wearing it when the weather in England actually decides what it wants to do!!!!
This though had to be my favourite carboot purchase today! only £3!!! It was the ifrst thing I saw, at the first stall! A little old lady told me she used to go out in the town in it hahha! :') but at £3 what a steal!! I think its real suede but the leopard trim is faux fur. The lady also said its a vintage designer item :S but theres no label inside and instead of a loop theres a little chain to hand it up. I love leopard print so needless to say, I will be sporting this baby whilst its cold in England!

I also saw a vintage mens long jacket, but the couple wouldnt budge on £10 :( plus I wasnt sure if my boyfriend wouldve like it but still! It was lovely, plus I think it may have been a designer / high end tailors item, not like he would be bothered :P but still it was lovely! no wonder they didnt budge from £10!

apologies on the poor quality images my cameras charging so had to use my phone!!

looking forward to next weekend when i'll hopefully be off to torksey again, then to Nottingham!! :)

Carboot Sale Bargins

One thing I have really missed whilst living in the centre of Newcastle was a good car boot sale!!!
Today, despite the monsoon wheather we seem to be having at the moment, me and my mum went to Torksey carboot sale. Found loads of great things and only spent around a tenner at the max! it was great!

From Top :
Tapestry pattern bag
Blue rose print double bed quilt cover + pillows
Black and pink rose print shirt
Leather diamond laser cut lace ups
Red and orange print mens trunks ( D.I.Y project I think!!!! )
Black and white motif print sleeveless shirt
Gold lace and satin shirt

These were another great find ! An embroidery book, embroidery pattern book, knitting machine instruction manual (for my machine!) and 2 magazines with knitting and garment patterns in them only 10p each and their so helpful! especially the knitting magazine as this issue is for beginners to knitting like me! Nexrt step to find a crochet book/ magazine!

Customized T-Shirt Shredded Back

Here is another wonderful purchase from my days of being a little emo scene kid. This top was a baggy jersey printed top from primark. Whilst I still do like the print and the way the top fits, i just dont really wear it so again what do i do?

Well browsing through the pages of pinterest I found a tutorial on how to create a shredded t-shirt, or in general shred anything. Its a really great idea! so heres what I did !!

Studded Jumper/Sweat Shirt

STUDS, SPIKES whatever you call them!
Absoloutely love them!

For this jumper, I've used 15mm screw back spiked studs. I've used the pyramid studs that have little prongs on the back, whilst their good and cheap but I've found they rip the fabric and are hard to wash in a machine. Where as the screw backs are alot more sturdy and dont rip the fabric. The jumpers made from cotton, probably cheap crap cotton knowing primark!

Go wild with spikes!!
On this jumper, I used around 20 studs on each shoulder, I really like the effect already but I'm really tempted to add more further down the shoulders going along the arms, or even bigger spikes, or add shoulder pads! the possibilities are endless!

D.I.Y Dip Dye Bleaching & Fringing

Absolutely loving the bleaching and fringing thats in fashion this summer, the festival look for 2012. Seen as Im so poor im breathing life back into a few old t-shirts that i love and dont want to throw away but then again I dont wear them, so what to do?

After looking at a few photos on tumblr and pinteterest I got inspired. The first top is a Hard Rock Cafe tank that my Dad got me when we went to visit in the states, as you can see we got the top from the Nashville , Tennesse ( or however you spell it!sorry!)

This is another top I got from Hot Topic in the states! absoloutley loved it when I got it, still do like the bands music but again this was a top I didnt really wear.  Seen as the short sleeves didnt really do it for me I fringed them as well :) Personally I think it was a good decision! and you will be seeing me rocking these tees at this years Leeds Festival!! cant wait :)
